DJ Lindsay Luv Miriam Salat

Lindsay Luv is an it-girl DJ with an amazing sense of style. Her career has really taken off, enabling Lindsay to travel all over the world and share her talent. Quite the fashionista, Lindsay has impressed us with her rocker chic style and is often accessorizing with Miriam Salat jewels! It’s always amazing to see how she blends our pieces with different outfits. Lindsay stepped out at Joe Jonas’s birthday party, Fashion’s Night Out and more while wearing some of her favorite MRM pieces like the Majestic ring and the hot pink Salvador ring. In our exclusive interview Lindsay opened up about her exciting life as a DJ, her musical influences and the many places she has been. Read the interview below to learn more about Lindsay.

What brought you into the DJ and music industry?

My love for music! I always knew I wanted to work with music from a young age and started on the business side in artist management, development and music event marketing and production and eventually made my way into DJing which quickly became a full time gig!

As a big traveler do you have any top destinations? If yes which ones and why?

I’ve DJed abroad in some amazing destinations. Switzerland was totally magical. I loved how everything looked like it was out of a storybook and people were so friendly. Plus the fondue and chocolates were divine. More recently I toured out to India and was blown away. India is such a rich and welcoming culture. I love the colorful fashions of the Sari’s worn by women zipping by on mopeds and all the spicy chutneys and dips. I really enjoy traveling and/or touring anywhere exotic. I am planning a trip to Thailand this year, as I love beautiful beaches, great Thai massages and thai food is my favorite! Everything I hear about Thailand makes me want to visit there! I also would like to make it to Istanbul, Austria and Croatia. I love cities with lots of history and gothic inspired/medieval looking or ancient architecture plus winding streets to get lost in.

What kind of accessories is complementing your daily looks?

Obviously Miriam Salat! I love how Miriam Salat pieces can be worn very edgy or totally classic. When I am feeling rocknroll I throw on a Miriam Salat cuff and the cross ring, or if I am feeling more dainty I will throw on a pair of dangly stone earrings and a thin bangle.

Which Miriam Salat pieces do you think are the most reflecting your styles and personalities?
The black ring with the silver and turquoise cross is part of my everyday look! I never want to take it off. It is edgy and makes a statement all on it’s own. It is the one piece I wear every day! I also love the blinged out lion’s head cuff for special occasions. I love a sparkly statement piece for events!

If you could design any accessory, what would it be?  Describe its look, and why, and what it would be made of?
I would make a wide black resin cuff with a rose gold doorknocker lion’s head in the middle with black diamond eyes on the head and a ring through it’s nose and the words “The Lion’s Roar” scripted inside the piece. You heard it here first, so when can we make it?!

Get To Know DJ Kissette

Marsha and Sandra Krcmar also known as DJ kissette came by the Miriam Salat showroom to play dress up and select pieces for their tour. Within the assortment of jewelry they loved our, ivory Double Lion Head Cuff, navy Faceted Stone ring, Basic watermelon Bangle, chalcedony Dot Bangle, black Dot Bangle, clear Starry Night Bangle, hot pink Starlet Bangle, blue Starlet bangle, black Bedazzled teardrops, hot pink Nugget earring, ivory Elephant Bangle and black Scallop Cuff. The rambunctious divas looked great while modeling the collection and were enthused by the fun medley of jewelry. The rambunctious divas looked great while modeling the collection and we loved spending time getting to know them! What brought you into the DJ and music industry?

MK: I’ve always had a passion for music and with the growing scene of EDM it makes it easy for people to follow their passions.
SK: I’m in love with sound and people. The generic saying of “music is a universal language”, as cliche as it is, is still very true – it does express the inexpressible.

As a big travelers do you have any top destinations? If yes which ones and why?
MK: If the climate is warm and by the water I love it! Also, if the destination carries any history I’m also in love. Obviously the destination has to love to party if KISSETTE is there ;)
SK: Bora Bora. French Polynesia embraces a vast ocean area with 118 islands and atolls scattered, each carrying their own mystique aka Heaven Earth. Don’t believe me – Google it.

What kind of accessories are complementing your daily looks?
MK: I love bold necklaces and layering bracelets that are customizable to your own personality.
SK: I love large and in charge pieces. Usually a loud ring, or bracelet – but not worn together. I also love watches usually of the classical juxtaposing nature.

Which Miriam Salat pieces do you think are the most reflecting your styles and personalities?

MK: I’m absolutely IN LOVE with pink Faceted Stone ring.
SK: I’m in love with the ivory snake bangle, lion head cuff, clear medallion cuff as well as the pink faceted stone ring.

If you could design any accessory, what would it be? Describe its look, and why, and what it would be made of?
MK:I love all kinds of jewellery so it would be hard to just design one! I’d probably start with necklaces that were really dainty and feminine. Then I’d move onto rings as bracelets. Right now though I’m really into the cleopatra headpieces that I first saw Nicole Richie do!
SK: I would probably explore unorthodox uses of gem settings within metal frames for rings. Unrefined cuts, mix of stones drawing inspiration from architecture of Roman ruins.

Yayoi Kusama For Louis Vuitton

On our way to the office this month we were intrigued by the Louis Vuitton Flagship’s graphic decorations. Showing black waves of dots on the facade and red and white sculptures in the windows, the French label’s building caught our eye when we got closer. Flowers & tentacles in bright colors accompanied with small wax dolls made us wonder who’s artist signature could be playing with all these elements? A frequent collaborator within the Art world, Louis Vuitton decided to work with the renowned Yayoi Kusama on products such as a limited-edition line of clothing and accessories, as well as a digital application that will allow you to put yourself in the art! We love the work of the 82 year old Japanese self-taught artist and the colorful world she has become known for. After showing her work in the most prestigious museums, London’s Tate Modern and NYC’s MOMA, Kusama is back to the city with a retrospective exhibition of her abstract work at the Whitney Museum trough September 30th.

Miriam + Tadashi Shoji

Miriam Salat’s jewelry was featured in the Tadashi Shoji Spring/Summer 2012 Runway Show at NY Fashion Week’s opening day, Thursday, September 8, 2011.  The beautiful collection was inspired by “…the enchanting beauty and splendor of the tulip.  Rich in it’s color yet delicate in its form…”

Stylist Tina Chai chose bangles, cuffs and rings that complemented the colorful collection of silk linen, embroidered lace, and draped tulle.
