Brazil Style!

Brazil is the place to be this summer– playa, white sand, bold colors, música, flowers and fun are part of the largest country in South America. Don’t forget your Miriam Salat gypset jewels, the best traveling companion. We chose pieces from our Starry Nights collection in golden to pair with amazing fruity dresses by Isoldalondon. We love the Brazilian-born, London-based designer’s whimsical prints mixed with our Starlet bangle, Feather Jewel ring, Small Nugget necklace and Ribbon cuff and earrings all in sparkling apricot.

Super Saturday 15

We just got back from The Hamptons where we participated in one of the most prestigious charity events; Super Saturday 15! Despite the rain and thunder, the day was a huge success benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.  We brought a fabulous selection of Miriam Salat jewelry and had a great time mingling with our customers and sharing the excitement of the day. Hosted by Kelly Ripa, and attended by celebs like Star Jones, Tiffani Thiessen, June Ambrose, and Jill Zarin, we enjoyed special treatment with a delicious buffet, cocktails, Pirates Booty, cupcakes by Crumbs, Pinkberry and Voss water. Even though it poured rain all day, it didn’t discourage people from shopping designer brands like DKNY, DVF, Tbags Los-Angeles, Milly and jewelry from the Miriam Salat booth! You missed the 15th year? No worries, Super Saturday 16 is coming next year, just be ready!

Get To Know Miriam: NYC

We’re launching a series of blog posts dedicated to getting to know Miriam!  In this post we ask Miriam all about her home, New York City.

Here is a picture of Miriam and her 2 daughters inside Argentine artist Tomás Saraceno’s installation, Cloud City, on the rooftop of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The impressive structure, based on a combination of art, architecture, and science, is composed of many interconnected modular structures of transparent and reflective materials where visitors and kids are invited to climb and explore.

What do you love the most about living in New York City?

I love so many things about this city. I love looking up at the architecture, window shopping, people watching downtown and access to so many great museums. There is a sense that I can meet and interact with people from so many walks of life, who live in different parts of the city, but still feel a sense of community in my own neighborhood.

What is your favorite neighborhood?

Soho – I love the boutiques, restaurants, and cobblestone streets.  Even though it is no longer an industrial hub filled with factories – you can still feel the history and imagine what Soho looked liked before the industrial spaces turned into residential lofts. Plus I got my start selling jewelry on the streets of Soho!

Favorite place to shop?

I am such an eclectic shopper – I like samples sales, boutiques up and down Madison Ave and in Soho, I also shop online, because it has the most variety, but if I have to pick one store, it would be Barneys.

Favorite restaurant?

My favorite restaurant changes all the time! Right now, I am craving Freemans, down Freemans Alley in the Lower East Side.  I definitely love to get out of my comfort zone, my Upper West Side neighborhood, when I go out at night!  My brother is opening up a new Japanese Ramon Shop called Ganso in Brooklyn later this Summer and I can’t wait to go!

Describe your perfect day in NYC?

A very full day starting with a workout first thing in the morning (reformer pilates!),  a fun activity for my children during the day such as a trip to the Central Park Zoo, then out to dinner with my husband and friends.

Anything else you would like to say about this awesome city?

There is always some amazing activity or event that you stumble upon.  For example, last Sunday, my daughter and I walked to Pier 70 on the Hudson River because she “just had to see the sunset”  and there was a great Indie band playing on the Pier.  It was so much fun – great energy.  There is so much to explore, I often feel like I am a tourist in an exciting city when I visit places I haven’t seen for a long time.

MRM at Jean Brown

Launched in Brisbane 2007, Jean Brown set a new benchmark in Australian luxury retail standards offering accessories from the world’s leading fashion houses and designers in line with their worldwide availability. Our first Australian retailer, Miriam Salat is honored to find a home at Jean Brown alongside prestigious lines such as Celine, Balenciaga, Marni, and more.

The innovative gallery space sets the perfect aesthetic to showcase each designer as an artist and master in their field, promoting the enduring quality of ‘original’ design as the underscore for discerning clients of luxury accessories.  We’re digging how fab our jewelry looks next to those Celine handbags!

We asked the boutique why they decided to carry the Miriam Salat Collection,  “Jean Brown is drawn to refined yet organic forms of the Miriam Salat SS12 collection, which are striking and easy to wear, and bear a distinct artisan influence. Showing an appreciation of traditional materials and processes infused with modern design elements, Miriam Salat sits well with our range of luxury accessories, and strikes the perfect balance between costume and fine jewelry.”

Colorblocking Love

We stumbled upon the perfect dress to wear with our Colorblocking Collection at Alter in Brooklyn, NY! The tri-colored “Pink Block Stripe Dress” is by Brooklyn-based designer UZI! We’re in love!

Blue on Blue!

Colorblocking is still on our radar this Summer! From your outfits to accessories, everything is bright & bold. Here, our Blue selection reminds us of the beautiful sky and the lucky ones that are enjoying the sea, sun and sand! Keep your jewelry updated with a stack of Starlet and Dot bangles. Play with transparent and opaque shades by adding the blue Gothic earrings while embellishing your digits with a turquoise Imperial ring and navy Evil Eye ring!

Colorblocking The Shop

Nothing beats the 90 degree heat like bright colors! To bring some mid-Summer cheer, we gave Miriam Salat in The Shops at Columbus Circle a Colorblocking makeover.  Paper lanterns in shades of pink, orange, and blue hang from the ceiling transforming the space, while mirrored dots add a whole new dimension to the windows.  We love the new artwork on display in the lobby too, a hyper-color flower sculpture by a Brazilian neo pop artist Romero Britto!

Bastille Day Celebration

Bastille Day is just around the corner, célébrons la fête nationale du 14 juillet tout en Bleu, Blanc, Rouge! We are introducing the perfect combination with navy Feather earrings, Estate earrings and Evil Eye ring all in ivory. Add more colors to your arm with red and navy bangles neither with Starlet, Dot or keep it Basic. Wear a skirt or dress complementing your look with a cute beret, prêt pour le tournoi de pétanque?

Miriam at Sleep No More

Miriam took in one of the hottest theatrical performances of the Summer, Sleep No More, this week. So how do you accessorize for an interactive, film noir version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth? Miriam says: Neutrals.  Ivory, honey and black bangles with dramatic black earrings! Don’t miss out on this amazing experience, get your tickets today!

1 Dress 3 Looks

Our intern Brooke showed up today in the cutest neon pink dress and we couldn’t resist trying out 3 different colorblocking looks on her!  What’s your favorite? Turquoise, Pink or Orange?
